AMED - DBP Women's Assembly Spokesperson Berivan Bahçeci stated that the solution is possible with the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan and that they will raise the struggle for this in every field.

The discussions on the perspective of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party's (DEM) İmralı Delegation's talks with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the solution of the Kurdish issue continue. Evaluating the discussions on the solution, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Women's Assembly Spokesperson Berivan Bahçeci stated that as women, they care about the process. Pointing out that the isolation against Abdullah Öcalan continues, Berivan Bahçeci said, "The main issue is that if a process is to start, not only through the meeting, all conditions must be provided for this and the isolation must be lifted and Mr Öcalan's physical freedom must be realised. As women, we are ready to be in the fields and fight for this.

Berivan Bahçeci underlined that Abdullah Öcalan's paradigm is important for the emancipation of women and said, "If there is to be peace, the conditions for this must be created. As women, we will raise our voices more to ensure that what needs to be done in this regard is done as soon as possible.  We will do whatever we have to do in this regard."

Underlining that women and children are the most affected by wars, Berivan Bahçeci said, "Imagine that the economy has collapsed where you live, and women and children suffer the consequences of this the most. We can count many things in terms of the current male-dominated perspective and the structure dominated by the AKP government, disregarding women, weakening their will and ignoring their will. So we can give hundreds of examples of this. All of these are due to the fact that the place we live in has entered a state of war. Women suffer the most from this."

‘WOMEN FIND THEMSELVES IN THE PARADIGM’

Berivan Bahçeci stated that women have found themselves in Abdullah Öcalan's paradigm and that they have observed this in many meetings they have held and said, "In the 'special war' workshops we have held, women have stated that the predominantly male-dominated social perspective has changed after the emergence of the democratic, ecological and women's libertarian paradigm. They say that they can express themselves more and that they are fighting for a free lifestyle. Women see themselves in the paradigm."

Berivan Bahçeci reminded Abdullah Öcalan's words "Society cannot be liberated without liberation of women" and added, "Women are now raising their voices everywhere for a women-liberated society and life. The way that women and children will not die and can express themselves freely everywhere is through the physical freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. It is Mr Öcalan's paradigm that brings this about. It is the philosophy of ‘Jin, jiyan, azadî (Woman, life, freedom)’ that forms the basis for this. In order to protect and grow this philosophy and make it a basic philosophy of life, we must unite around it. As women who pay the greatest price, we must work with all our strength to enlarge it."
