NEWS CENTRE - More than 41 thousand people were left without water in Ain Issa, where Turkey and affiliated paramilitary structures targeted the electricity grid and water stations.

More than 41 thousand people have been left without water due to the attacks of Turkey and its paramilitary structures against the town of Ain Issa in North and East Syria. According to Hawar News Agency (ANHA), technical teams are unable to reach water facilities that are out of service due to the ongoing attacks. In addition to the water collection tank and the water stations in Al-Hijah and Al-Fatse, the electricity network was also bombed during the attacks.

MORE THAN 41 THOUSAND PEOPLE WITHOUT WATER

Speaking on the issue, Senaa El Eli, Co-Chair of Ain Issa Water Authority, said, "The Turkish occupation has intensified its attacks on service facilities in order to make the lives of citizens in the region more difficult. In this context, it directly targeted the water tanks and electricity networks in Al-Hishe Al-Khamiye stations. Al-Fatse station was also completely destroyed in the attacks. Due to these attacks, drinking water was completely cut off in 45 villages of Al-Hishe and 20 villages of Ain Issa. More than 41 thousand people live in these villages. Continued water cuts will force the people of the region to use water that is not suitable for drinking and may cause diseases."

Senaa El Eli also gave information about their efforts to meet the needs of the citizens and said, "There is only one water tank and although it works 24 hours a day, it is not enough for the needs of the citizens." Senaa El Eli also stated that technical teams could not go to the facilities for repairs due to the ongoing attacks.

On the other hand, the Euphrates Canton administrators stated that the material damage caused by the attacks of Turkey and affiliated paramilitary structures against the water facilities reached 1 million dollars and that thousands of families were victimised due to the water shortage.
